Current Opinion on Perioperative Analgesia for Thoracic Surgeries.

The number of thoracic surgeries has increased worldwide, about doubling over the past two decades. Surgical procedure has been changed from open thoracotomy to video-assisted to robotassisted procedure. Even though the surgical procedure has been improved to be less invasive, the chronic pain after thoracic surgeries remains a clinical problem. Generally, acute pain control is important to prevent moving to chronic pain and postoperative complications. For this session, I will show the trend of the analgesic method for thoracic surgeries in Japan based on the global situation. It would be happy if we could share the valuable knowledge with you.
